As part of our ongoing commitment to breast cancer awareness, Marble Medical Center recently hosted two impactful events in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. These events were held at two different locations in Qatar, with each event led by one of our specialized doctors, Dr. Joud Shabarq and Dr. Maram Karkar. Through these separate yet unified efforts, Marble Medical Center aimed to engage the community, emphasizing the importance of early detection, regular screenings, and self-care practices.
Dr. Joud Shabarq’s Event at Ezdan Mall – October 17
On October 17, Dr. Joud Shabarq led an engaging session at Ezdan Mall, focusing on the significance of early breast cancer detection. The event provided attendees with practical, step-by-step guidance on how to perform self-examinations, helping participants recognize the importance of spotting early signs and symptoms.
Dr. Joud highlighted the positive impact of early examination and encouraged regular check-ups, equipping attendees with essential knowledge to take proactive control of their health.
Dr. Maram Karkar’s Event at Vendome Mall in Partnership with In the Hands of Venus – October 19
The second event took place on October 19 at Vendome Mall, where Dr. Maram Karkar collaborated with In the Hands of Venus, led by Mrs. Afraa Noaimi. This session focused on the journey of breast cancer treatment, explaining the different stages of care, from initial diagnosis to medical and surgical options available. Dr. Maram emphasized the importance of periodic medical check-ups and ongoing follow-ups to ensure effective management and early intervention.
The collaboration with In the Hands of Venus added a layer of support, allowing attendees to connect with advocates who understand the emotional and psychological aspects of breast cancer.
