Job Summary:
The Physiotherapist or Physical Therapist is an individual who holds a current, valid license issued under a national authority or board that authorizes them to practice Physical Therapy and use the title Physical Therapist.
Physiotherapist or Physical therapists are health care professionals who help individuals maintain, restore, and improve movement, activity, and functioning, thereby enabling optimal performance and enhancing health, well-being, and quality of life.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform screening and evaluation of patients carried out in a systematic way prior to initiating physiotherapy treatment using a facility standardized format.
- Develop and implement a physiotherapy treatment plan of care based on the prescription of referring physician, screening, and evaluation of each patient’s presentation and condition in order to achieved results
- Re-evaluation including re-examination of the patient and a review of plan of care with appropriate continuation, revision, or termination of treatment based on the progress of patient’s condition.
- Documentation and recording of physiotherapy services including the initial examination and evaluation, the plan of care, Follow up treatment session, re-evaluations, patient conferences/meetings and discharge status.
- Operates and maintains sophisticated instruments and equipment used in Physiotherapy and is able to properly set up, calibrate, maintain, operate and shut down such instruments as per user manuals, policies and procedures
- Actively participates in Quality Improvement Programs essential to ensure that physiotherapy modalities are accurate, effective, efficient and meets customer needs.
- Educate, guide and provide training to new physiotherapist, technicians and trainees in performing modalities and to ensure that new staff learn the department’s standard operating procedures, protocols and policies
- Maintains competence in Health Information System and software applications that is crucial to the operations to ensure accurate patient electronic medical records.
- Perform inventory of supplies, such as, consumables, chemicals, and reagents to ensure appropriate stocks, for daily operation in performing test on day-to-day basis.
- Monitor, record, and maintain machines, equipment and instruments optimal working condition and calibration. Report any issues, breakdown and/or malfunction immediately to HOD or appropriate responsible department to ensure safe operation and provision of accurate results as per policies and procedure.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding patient health information to ensure privacy and respect.
Job Requirements:
-3-year accredited Diploma OR
-Bachelor’s Degree in physical Therapy OR
-DPT Doctor of Physical Therapy (entry level) Graduate
-Three years (3) of Experience as a Physical Therapist/Physiotherapist
